October Meeting Notice

Fellow chapter members —
ASR has been a painful and complicated issue for thousands of pools throughout Central Texas. Pool contractors, concrete companies, homeowners, insurance companies and others throughout our industry have all been affected.
At our July meeting, our resident engineer John McIntyre gave us an introduction to a developing approach that may have the potential to extend the life of some ASR-affected pools.
This Thursday, we’ll be taking a much closer look.
John will be joined by Tony Jordan, a representative with RENOLIT, and Aaron King of All 3 Pools, who has firsthand experience with the installation of a reinforced PVC membrane on an ASR-affected pool.
Together, they will discuss the approach, the installation process and what has been learned from the pools that have already undergone treatment.
This is not being presented as a cure for ASR, nor is it a solution for every affected pool.
Rather, the goal of this discussion is to share information about a potential option for some of the lesser-affected ASR pools in Central Texas and give our members an opportunity to better understand the process.
There will also be plenty of time for questions and discussion with the panelists.
If ASR is affecting your business or your customers, we hope you’ll join us for this informative discussion on Thursday.
We look forward to seeing you Thursday, October 29, social hour starting promptly at 6:00 PM.
Sincerely,
Juan Armenta
Pres., Central Texas PHTA
